Our Teachers: Jen Dziura

Jennifer has scored a perfect 1600 on the GRE twice (most recent score on the new GRE: 170V, 169M), and loves helping aspiring graduate students aim high. She taught Manhattan GRE's first-ever classes in 2009, and is currently enjoying receiving her former students' emails about their GRE successes.

Jennifer's test prep career began in a high school in Virginia Beach, Virginia with a shoebox full of vocabulary flashcards. Soon, her friends' parents were hiring her to tutor. Now, with over a decade of test teaching under her belt, Jen has edited and written portions of over a dozen books for educational publishers and has taught classes in environments ranging from underserved Bronx public schools to Upper Upper West Side homes.

Jennifer graduated from Dartmouth, where she who founded her first company while an undergraduate. She has worked as a Director of Marketing and has spoken at colleges and universities on branding and internet marketing. Her whitepaper on internet marketing metrics appears in graduate-level course readers at California Polytechnic University.

Jennifer is also co-orchestrator of the Williamsburg Spelling Bee, a real spelling bee for adults, as featured in the New York Times and in international press from Sydney to Tokyo. She has written for humor website McSweeneys.net, tours the East Coast with her one-woman show, "What Philosophy Majors Do After College," and in 2007 went on a three-week comedy tour entertaining the troops in the Middle East. Her newest one-woman show about punctuation premiered at the Empire State Book Festival in 2010 and will be performed for librarians, library patrons, and like-minded linguaphiles in 2011.

She is the editor of the Manhattan GRE blog, and is currently working on a book about speed mathematics.
