Re: Annual stock holders meeting...

hi Ron. I choose A though I think it is kind of weird. I'm really confused why we should eliminate including . Actually I don't know why it should be" among them " Is it sth like REVERSAL? "the challenges are among the threat and the decline blabla", am I right? Also, I remember ...

Each year companies in the united States could save as

Each year companies in the United States could save as much as $58 billion annually by preventing illness among employees and gain as much as $200 billion through improving performance of workers if they simply provided offices with cleaner air. (A) annually by preventing illness among employe...

Re: In some species of Cricket, the number of chirps per minute

I read the whole thread and I know A, C, E are not right, but I still don't know why B is wrong? We should not eliminate choices between "for attracting" and "to attract" and remember that PRONOUN AMBIGUITY IS NOT AN ABSOLUTE RULE. So how we do with B? In light of that statement,...

Re: Each year companies in the united States could save as

Will GMAC think "in employee illness prevention" awkward or nonsensical? If you're not a native speaker of English, forget about "awkward". It's almost impossible to discern what is "awkward" if you have not known the language since you were a small child. (This is why...

Re: In some species of Cricket, the number of chirps per minute

I read the whole thread and I know A, C, E are not right, but I still don't know why B is wrong? In choice B, "which" describes "temperature", so you end up with a sentence that says the temperature is "an approximate thermometer". First, that's not the intended meanin...

hi Ron. I choose A though I think it is kind of weird. I'm really confused why we should eliminate including . There's nothing wrong with "including" by itself. The issue is that the combination of "including" and "among them" is redundant. (The correct answer would st...

Re: Judge Bonham denied a motion to allow

Did you see this problem in the GMAT PREP software? The only place I've ever seen this problem is in the OG. We're not allowed to use OG problems here. If you saw this problem in the GMAT PREP software, please attach a screenshot (or post one to postimage.org and then post the link here). Otherwise...

Re: In some species of Cricket, the number of chirps per minute

We do need to use "which" to refer to "number" but choice B creates an ambiguity. Although we should not use the AMBIGUITY RULE, choice D totally avoids this issue and is more parallel so we should prefer choice D. No, choice B does not "create an ambiguity". "Whi...

The computer company registered a $16 million net loss for

Source from PREP The computer company registered a $16 million net loss for the year, largely because it was profitable only overseas, where much of their profits were used for paying higher taxes, while continuing to lose money in North America. (A) where much of their profits were used for p...

Re: The computer company registered a $16 million net loss for

I don't think "with" is problematic. Idiomatically, it should be "used to pay ", because the profits were directly used to pay the taxes. ("Used for __ing" is more indirect. E.g., My father uses this chair for watching television , but my father uses his eyes to watch ...

Re: two popular arthritis drugs

Ron, can you explain that why A is wrong?
I know that choice C, D,& E are not right but I am quite confused which one should I pick, possibly not as safe as in choice A or may not be as safe as in choice B. What is the difference?

Thx!

Re: two popular arthritis drugs

I just find out a point.
Is it because they can only refer to "arthritis drugs" rather than "recent research" and drugs should be believed---> were believed to be.
Is that right?
How foolish was I!
