Re: Letter to the editor: Proposition Q, a controversial measure

Thanks for the explanation. The claim version today makes it more clear, even though I still marked the wrong answer. The key here, I believe, is understanding the true conclusion of the passage, even if its short.

Re: Parkinsons Disease

Bump question #2... It can be inferred from the passage that current treatments of Parkinson’s Disease... (a) repair damaged cells by replenishing dopamine levels in the brain (b) are ineffective in their treatment of Parkinson’s symptoms, such as tremors (c) were developed without a complete unders...

In terms of economic impact, which of the following

Team, quick question on this verbal question: -- Relevant part of passage: "For several decades after its discovery, aluminum was considered a precious metal and was more costly than gold or platinum, not because of any fundamental scarcity, but because of its elevated cost of production. The p...

Re: Although there has been great scientific debate for decades

Negating the solutions here really help to see if the conclusion falls apart. (a) New technological developments in the next century WILL divert rising seas from the world’s coastal cities. (clearly populations are saved) (b) Individuals WILL become more aware of the steps they can take to reduce th...

Re: Insects and drugs - RC Passage

Hi, I have a question on the same passage. It is the general purpose type question. Which of the following most accurately describes the primary purpose of the passage? (a) To urge that one animal be used in place of another to perform a certain job (b) To explain the advantages and disadvantages of...

Re: Insects and drugs - RC Passage

Same passage guys, I'm really doubling down here. Here's the question below: It can be inferred from the passage that insects would be less useful for helping researchers to detect drugs if which of the following were true? (a) They were as accurate as, but not more accurate than, dogs in detecting ...

Consumption of bread products made from ergot-infected grain

Consumption of bread products made from ergot-infected grains often trigger severely debilitating symptoms such as muscle contractions, seizures, and gangrene but, at a proper dose, also cause a significant reduction in maternal bleeding after childbirth. (a) bread products made from ergot-infected ...

Re: The emerging field of architectural climatology centers on

Can some one better explain this answer (OA is E). I understand there needs to be an independent sentence after the semi-colon (knock off A & B) and we need "from" in the "prevent from X-ing" idiom (knock off C). However, to eliminate D, it seems like a lot of extra items/con...

Re: Terminating decimal Manhattan CAT problem

After reviewing this problem, the answer makes sense. I'm also seeing a pattern, prime factorization helps nearly 100% of the time in divisibility/prime number questions. However, in the answer explanation, it is writtem: "The only prime factors that 24 and 28 share are 2 and 2(2^2)." What...

Re: According to a survey of graduating medical students conduct

To recap, we only need to realize that "likely" takes the infinitive (eliminating ABD) and "as X as" is the correct form for comparison (eliminating E) to solve this problem. The beginning part of the underline is a false split and this isn't a "like" vs "as" ...

Re: For the farmer who

I think you can remove the first modifier because it seems to be a prepositional phrase that modifies the rest of the whole sentence. We could write: Provided with high energy feed, and milked regularly, Holstein cows will produce an average of 2275 gallons of milk each year (for the farmer who take...

Re: That every worker: MGMAT CAT

@Stacey, you did a great job explaining why "consider it important" is an OK construction here. My question is, how can we be sure to catch this during the test? I've reviewed this problem a few times and always eliminate answer choice C for the same reasons. "it" clearly has no ...
