rachel, your mistake was in writing "UF = 30%". the problem states that 30% is the percentage of users who cited both U and F -- but that is a group that encompasses both your "UF" and your "UFB".
if B is given as 42%, this just means that a certain part of that 30% has to be in the "UFB" region.
i could be wrong about this, but it seems to me that you would have an easier time seeing these things if you drew the venn diagram -- it's quite a task to deal with eight different "regions" without a diagram.

The statement says "If 30 percent of the respondents cited

Even If I interpret it wrongly,(which ever one that is!), I still get 26%! How come!? :-(
