With the advent of chat rooms, blogs and forums, armchair \u201cexperts\u201d often unintentionally propagate MBA admissions myths, which can linger and undermine an applicant\u2019s confidence. Some applicants are led to believe that schools want a specific \u201ctype\u201d of candidate and expect certain GMAT scores and GPAs, for example. Others are led to believe that they need to know alumni from their target schools and\/or get a letter of reference from the CEO of their firm in order to get in. If you have typos and grammatical errors throughout your essays and application, you send a negative message about your sense of professionalism and desire to represent yourself\u2014and thus the target school\u2014in a positive way. If you have a minor mistake or too (oops, we meant \u201cmistake or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">two<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d) in your text, you have an unfortunate but not devastating situation on your hands. Admissions committees understand that you are only human, and if you are a strong candidate, the entirety of your professional, community, personal, and academic endeavors will outweigh these blips.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not dwell on a typo or mistake. Do not send new essays.
