You can now take our GMAT practice tests under the new official conditions that will be given on the official exam starting April 16th.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a reminder, the Quant and Verbal sections of the exam are getting shorter (by a total of 23 minutes!). The scoring will stay exactly the same and the test will still contain all of the usual question types and content areas. Check <\/span><a id=\"bloglink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manhattanprep.com\/gmat\/blog\/2018\/04\/04\/big-news-gmat-getting-shorter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for full details.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Wait, I\u2019m Taking the Real GMAT Exam Before the 16th!<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our updated GMAT practice tests can only be taken under the new format, but never fear: the official GMAT practice tests (currently called GMATPrep\u00ae and downloadable from <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mba.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.mba.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) have not yet been updated, so you can take an \u201cold-format\u201d practice test there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But we do need to talk about one thing. Today is April 12th. The last day the exam will be given under the old format is April 15th&#8230;three days from now. I <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">really<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can\u2019t recommend taking a practice test within 3 days of the real thing. It\u2019s like running a practice marathon 3 days before the real marathon\u2014not enough time to get better at what you\u2019re practicing, plus you\u2019re likely to just tire yourself out right before the big day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still, you might want to do, say, just one section of the exam a few days before\u2014I can get behind that. So I give you permission to use GMATPrep for that.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0?<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Is That All?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One more thing, actually. You will need to update how you track your time across the Quant and Verbal sections of the test, since both are now shorter. <a id=\"bloglink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manhattanprep.com\/gmat\/blog\/2018\/04\/11\/everything-know-gmat-time-management-part-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Here\u2019s how to use your Yellow Pad scratch paper to manage your time for the new format of the exam<\/a>. We\u2019re in the midst of updating other parts of our curriculum and study materials with this same timing strategy, so just bookmark that link and you\u2019ll be good to go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And I really have to give another shout-out to our entire IT team. Last summer, they updated our GMAT practice tests in just 24 hours to allow the three new section-order options. Now, and given a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">far<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> more fundamental and far-reaching change, they churned out an update in just 9 days.
