A few of them might make you want to deploy some four-letter words.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ken isn&#8217;t just Barbie&#8217;s boyfriend.  <A HREF=\"\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/browse\/ken\">Ken<\/A> means knowledge, understanding, or perception.  It often occurs in the expression &#8220;beyond my ken.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t confuse <i>ken<\/i> with <A HREF=\"\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/browse\/kin\">kin<\/A>, meaning family or relatives.<\/p>\n<p>Choose your own answer before clicking &#8220;more&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As a scholar of Chinese dynasties and governments, three thousand years of history was well within his ken; even those who criticized his conclusions had to admit that his ___________ was _____________.<\/p>\n<p>A. legerdemain &#8230; arcane<br \/>\nB. erudition &#8230; estimable<br \/>\nC. pedantry &#8230; prodigious<br \/>\nD. perspicacity &#8230; wan<br \/>\nE. sagacity &#8230; tantamount<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We need words that mean &#8220;learning&#8221; and &#8220;impressive,&#8221; respectively.
