Andrew Marquis

New York, NY

  • Washington University in St. Louis
  • Columbia Business School (2018)

Coming out of Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in philosophy, Andrew returned to his hometown of New Orleans to teach 8th grade science through Teach For America. In the few years that followed, he was a teacher, grade level chair, department chair, instructional coach, head football coach, and middle school dance DJ. He wrote and refined the region’s science curriculum and only caused two fire-related school evacuations during his classes’ labs.

During his third year of teaching, Andrew took a Manhattan Prep course and was amped to earn a 760 on his first official exam. He is excited to use his experience as a teacher to continue bringing out those “aha moments” for his MPrep students.

Andrew is thrilled to be a part of the class of 2018 at Columbia Business School. Outside of teaching and school, Andrew loves basically any sport with a ball, any T.V. show (good, bad, or horrific), and most live music acts. He has also recently gotten into viciously burning a couple of Blue Apron meals a week.
