Stephanie began teaching in college as a physics tutor, math tutor, lab TA, and Academic Excellence Facilitator. By the end of college she had tutored over 15 separate courses, and fellow students were knocking on her door at all hours of the day for help. It was at this time that she decided to pursue a teaching career. Since then, Stephanie has taught a variety of students ranging in age from elementary school to college.

Stephanie is a graduate of Harvey Mudd College with a B.S. in physics and mathematics. She received her Ph.D. in physics and astrophysics from the University of California at San Diego in June of 2013. For her thesis she did experimental studies of the sky signal from the origin of the universe, traveling to the driest place on earth (the Atacama Desert) to build a telescope at three miles of elevation above sea level.

Outside of Manhattan Prep, Stephanie has a job at Intel Corp building wearable technology. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, drinking good beer and hiking with her dog. Stephanie’s first love is the sport of judo. She’s been a junior and collegiate national champion and ranked as high as #5 in the United States. Don’t act up in class!
