Re: Q9 - Consumers are deeply concerned

To piggy-back: knowledge of plastic or glass recycling is irrelevant to reach the correct answer, although it may help better understanding the content. I didn't notice this at first but all the correct answers not only give an explanation, they verbatimly use the term recycle, i.e. their focus is s...

Re: Q4 - Maria: Thomas Edison was one

I wanted to add something else too. While I would argue that Frank does "criticizes" Maria's statements about Edison as (E) points out, albeit circuitously, (A) hits the nub i.e. the central or main flaw. Which leads me to point out, and someone can correct me if I err, sometimes there wil...

Re: Q6 - Beck: Our computer program estimates

Both are accurate description though. I don't think focusing on conditionality is a bad thing, in fact, conditionality is the most prevalent concept on the entire lsat (less so on RC). Thus, developing and understanding and how to work with conditional statement will only help and not hurt your perf...

Re: Q5 - Everyone in Biba's neighborhood

I also have a question: Is it just me, but I don't see the connection between the existence of a child and the pool being open. And, if I take the contrapositive, as someone pointed out earlier, it doesn't follow the facts of the stimulus: I need someone to explain how the contrapositive is valid an...

Re: Diagram

Hello All, I know some of the posts are from a distant past, however, for anyone else out there still chucking like me, here is some cool advice about this game. My initial set-up also held the information in a stacked aspect, two slots from 1-5. However, the problem with that is, it conveys the ide...

Re: Q21 - If the law punishes littering

If I may add: During the actual test though, because time is at the most importance, you could just easily eliminate (C) and (E) because they are talking about "most" and "some" respectively. No where in the fact pattern-stimulus- are we presented with "most" and "...

Re: Q14 - A cup of raw milk

Thank you First and foremost ahn2014, Your initial inclination was correct, answer choice (A) does in fact strengthen the argument, in other words, it contradicts exactly what the question stem calls for. Notice in your assessment you state that "not only microwave but also heat can destroy the...

Q10 - Technological progress makes

The correct answer is C. I was stuck between (C) and (D), and in fact I got this question wrong. Looking back, the only justification for the correct answer is that unlike (D), which is narrow in focus, marked by "workers who are directly affected by it" , (C) generalizes, which is compara...

Re: Diagram

Royaimani- [color=#BF0080]To clear up some vocabulary: I use slot, space, goes, position all to mean the space on the line diagram that a variable can be placed. Rina has it, but I'll piggy back off her: There are a few conditional inferences that can be produced during the initial set up and they co...

Re: Q16 - Philosopher: Nations are not literally

This might also help: We know we are looking for conclusion, which is indicated by the word "obviously". So whatever out answer we should be able to defend it with the content of the stimuli/argument presented. (A) This distorts the argument, (Many a times, a wrong answer choice will disto...

Re: Q13 - Therapist: Cognitive psychotherapy focuses

Alex hit the bullseye on this one. One of the most effective strategies to answering any question is to eliminate the wrong answer, especially when your stuck between two. It's really interesting that so many people were stuck on this, I guess most of us all are really close in how we reason. Out of...

Mike Kim, You work for Manhattan prep? I always feel like the explanations don't go deeper then surface level…. WIth this disc jockey game, you are absolutely correct with the "big inferences" regarding the dance songs. Furthermore, with a little more analysis it becomes apparent that V an...

Re: Diagram

After playing this game a few more times and breaking it apart, my belief is that it is not worth to frame any possibility/frame. Instead just notate the conditional if Q/T10 then Q/T is the other 10 slot. The new information provided by questions 19 and 20 are pretty helpful and allow a better gras...

Re: Diagram

Here it is: FYI: I know another test taker used the conditional that places P into 12 or 6, and that is also fine too. There is always more then way to get the correct solution! I used the conditional QT into slot 10 or lack of to produce three frames! Please let me know if I erred! I had to remove ...

Re: Diagram

I'm going to return to this when I get home. But my initial insight tells me that you wouldn't have enough time to make all the frames so I created three frames. ! frame that shows what happens when Q or T go in slot 10 ( which is, that they both go in 10). I had when Q goes in 10north and when T go...

Re: Q19

Hanselle and Christine, I just want to piggyback off what the others stated. It's difficult to see that G can not be placed into slot 10 during the initial set-up. two ways to attack question # 19, process of elimination or systematically go down the answer choices. If you go with the latter, then l...

Re: Diagram

I can't imagine how frames would be helpful in this game... The crucial inference in this game is the numerical relationship. The number of variables compared to the number of available slots is a concept that is crucial to nearly all linear games. Furthermore, more times then not, there will be at ...
