Custom Study Plan

by cjp0091 Sun Nov 25, 2012 9:32 pm

Good evening all! The time has come for me to start studying for the GMAT. I have not picked a date but I start class this Tuesday in Dallas. I was wondering if the instructors would be able to help me construct a study plan that will help me tackle the GMAT. I took a practice CAT and did HORRIBLE!!.....420.....I would LIKE to get mid to upper 600's but my self confidence has been COMPLETELY crushed by this practice test. I GREATLY appreciate ANY help anyone can provide. I need to do well on the GMAT to prove to myself that I am worth something!

Don't be too crushed by your first CAT -- everyone does poorly the first time! Spend some time with the Foundations of Math and Foundations of Verbal books - they'll be a great intro to the course. The syllabus is designed to take you through all the books at a structured pace, and has built-in suggestions each week for doing easier or harder work as well.

Once you've completed the course, take advantage of your Post-Course Assessment. This is a free opportunity to meet with an instructor to customize a strategy for studying between the end of your course and taking the GMAT.

And feel free to call Student Services at any time with questions: 800-576-4628.

John, thank you so much for your reply! In general, how much time should be spent studying before taking the GMAT? (after the course is completed)

Hi There,

We generally recommend that students spend about 2 to 3 weeks of studying post-course and pre-Official GMAT.
