GMAT 560 - Suggestions for Improvement

by sandhiya.v.a Tue Jan 29, 2013 1:39 pm

I gave my GMAT today and I have got a dismal 560 with 43 in quants and 24 in verbal. I wish to improve my score so that I get into good bschools in USA. My preference is a 1 year MBA in organizational Behavior. I have 3 years of work experience in IT.
So with this information above, please suggest me on the below:

1. Colleges that are good for 1 yr MBA in Org Behav.
2. Are there scholarships available for USA MBA programs? I am from India.
3. Score that is needed to get admitted into these good colleges.
My verbal preparation needs a rampup and I am unable to keep track of time and mostly I am confused with only 2 of the 5 options and that option I select is mostly the wrong one! (You would have guessed that with my GMAT score!)
4. I wish to take the courses by April this year, if possible, I will prepare hard, need to know whether colleges accept applications now for April batch.

Hi There,

We here at ManhattanGMAT focus primarily on creating the best GMAT test prep experience out there. Your question is more of an admissions question so I don't have much expertise to offer you. We do have a partner company called MBAMission (MBAmission.com) that can provide you with really great info on admissions and business schools. Also, check out our free resources page for more info on B-Schools.

There are a number of options as far as improving on the GMAT. We have Live Online full courses that provide instruction on all sections of the test.

If you want to just purchase books and focus on verbal, here's the Verbal Prep set.

I'd also recommend doing some research online for more information on business schools and programs that spark your interest.

Best,
