Re: The product of the units digit, the tens digit, and

96 = 2*2*2*2*2*3, statement 1: m is odd, so unit's digit could be 1,3,5,7,9. But we have only one odd factor in 96(product of digits of m) i.e. 3. Therefore, unit's digit of m is 3. - sufficient statement 2: hundred's digit is 8, so we are left with 2*2*3. Therefore, m could be 826, 843, 834, 862. S...

Re: The Chicago and Calumet Rivers originally flowed into the

Option D is again long sentence fragment. Rivers, modifier, but modifier... Ron, I just wanted a clarification regarding your explanation for option b. <two: 'by constructing' seems to refer back to the rivers as its ostensible subject, implying (absurdly) that the rivers themselves constructed t...

Re: Coordinate DS

Answer should be E. Line l: y = M1x + C1 passes through (4,3) so 3 = 4M1 + C1. => M1 = (3-C1)/4 Line k: y = M2x + C2 passes through (4,3) so 3 = 4M2 + C2. => M2 = (3-C2)/4 Statement 1: product of x intercepts positive: (C1/M1) * (C2/M2) > 0 ..Don't have C1*C2 product value OR C1,C2 value to...

Re: The federal immigration station on Ellis Island

In option E, I can see that

"Of all the immigrants to enter ..., federal immigration station ..."

I think 'federal immigration station' is not one of the immigrants. So it's wrong for this reason as well. If I am wrong please correct me.

Thanks,
Kamal

Re: Inequality

Hi Ron,

I agree with 'sd'. Even I chose D just because of the inequality sign. From the statement 1 itself, in any case, |x-y| > |x|+|y| is not possible.

Thanks,
Kamal

Re: Because the Earth’s crust

Hi Ron, what's wrong with option A. I mean please elaborate your views comprehensively on option A. pronoun 'it' can refer back to 'an earthquake of a given magnitude'. Also comparison issue can be resolved by replacing 'it', and the main clause can remain in present tense as well. Since answer give...

Re: After several years of rapid growth

I see a quite obvious awkward construction in option C ("in its paying").

Possessive 'its' should be followed by noun, but here it's verb+ing form(trying to act as gerund that is trap here in this incorrect answer).

Re: In many nations, criminal law does not apply to corporations

Hi Ron, This is an official problem, so definitely we should get atleast one takeaway from this problem. Anyway I got it right because rest of the other options were eliminated because of grammatical reasons and logical predications. But I am facing in correct option A. "a corporation commits ....
