Re: geo data sufficiency

I was able to figure out this problem after 10 minutes of thinking about it. How is it possible to figure this out in less than 3 min on the test? Should I just make educated guesses?

Study strategy - very unbalanced score? Please help!

Hi there! I am just starting a course but plan on applying to B-school right after taking the test in 8 weeks for round 3 of applications. I took a practice CAT on the website and got 620. Even though I plan on getting 750ish, this seems actually something feasible. The only thing that worries me is...

Re: Study strategy - very unbalanced score? Please help!

Hi Stacey, Thanks for the reply! I am taking an actual in-class course at the moment, and I have gotten feed-back from my instructor. I definitely realize now that 3 weeks into the course it is tons of work and I think for my it is more important to get a good score, than lower my goal - since I pla...

If line L in the xy-coordinate plane has a positive slope, w

Hi, I have the following question to ask about a GMAT problem from CAT 4. I get the trying smart number method, but I think it takes too long.. is there any way to quickly just see that the first statement is true? What if they are asking for y intercept instead of the x-intercept..is 1) still true?...

Hi Tim, that is the exact explanation I was looking for, which is more intuitive. Thanks much!

Study strategy for Verbal from 36 to 42 in 2 weeks?

Hi Stacey, I signed up for the GMAT for early April to aim for a 700+ score and while my quant scores improved, my verbal seems to tank, or go nowhere. My CAT scores are: CAT 1: 37Q, 37V - 620 CAT 2: 42Q, 37V - 640 CAT 3: 44Q, 33V - 640 CAT 4: 45Q, 35V - 660 I concluded several things after my test:...

Re: Study strategy for Verbal from 36 to 42 in 2 weeks?

Hi Stacey, Thanks for your reply! I did take the course and did a post course eval- and it was very helpful. My aim is to get a 700, so I am not sure how that is 96%. I feel if I fix my timing a bit and brush up on a few things, it is something do-able. I did take the test under 100 official conditi...

A Furniture Dealer

Hi there, Could someone help me with this prob? I have no idea how to arrive at the right answer. Thanks! -------------- A furniture dealer purchased a desk for $150 and then set the selling price equal to the purchase price plus a markup that was 40% of the selling price. If the dealer sold the des...

Re: CR: Electronic computer chips made of tiny silicon wafers

Hmm, I am still a bit confused about why D is not correct. It seem that: if, Some devices in which computer chips will be used will have other components that will be able to function during or after exposure to radiation, then we can still use these computer chips, and therefore the market for the ...
