Re: IF the integer n is greater than 1, is n equal to 2?

This one was very tough, but I got it right and could observe interesting number properties regarding this question. (1) It says that n is a prime number. Clearly not sufficient (2) Every odd > 1 number has ONLY odd factors , so the difference between factors will be always EVEN (ODD-ODD=EVEN) Ev...

Conventional wisdom has it that large deficits in the United

Conventional wisdom has it that large deficits in the United States budget cause interest rates to rise. Two main arguments are given for this claim. According to the first, as the deficit increases, the government will borrow more to make up for the ensuing shortage of funds. Consequently, it is ar...

Re: IF the integer n is greater than 1, is n equal to 2?

Hi Ron,

thanks, I was glad to see your comment. I hope that I'll be able to see these patterns in the real exam on January, 25th.
I've invested really much time in the preparation, but have still immense problems with RC, so everything above 37 in the verbal part would make me happy)).

Re: Explain the apparently surprising result - GPREP1

Here's my thought process for this question. Hope that it helps others and that it's correct for this question type (our experts can better assess it) Paradox: Revenues from Denoma declined, but according to the retailers, revenues for Denoma products increased. Goal: Find a reason, why Denoma's rev...

Re: Conventional wisdom has it that large deficits in the United

I had too many problems to state them here, while dealing with this passage. So I've posted this question to benefit others. And may be the discussions also help me to understand the questions and the passage better.

I'm new to the forum, and hope, that I've not violated forum rules for posting.

Re: The cottontail rabbit population in Orange County

Just my 2 cents... Dear experts do you think my reasoning is accurate for this question ? The cottontail rabbit population in Orange County, California, has increased unchecked in recent years as a result of the removal of the native fox population and the clearing of surrounding woodlands. A. years...

Some airlines allegedly reduce fares on certain routes

Hi guys, I encountered this question on the free GMATprep. I could narrow down to B and D, but picked D in the last moment. Some airlines allegedly reduce fares on certain routes to a level at which they lose money, in order to drive competitors off those routes. However, this method of eliminating ...

Re: mountain yellow-legged frog

Hi all, after reading all the posts, I still couldn't find a reason to eliminate A and C. Ok, frog is singular so eliminate B and E, but what's now ? How do you eliminate other incorrect answer choices ? I've picked the correct answer here, as D reflects most clearly the intended meaning and makes i...

Re: Industrialization and modtern methods of insect control have

I've answered this one correctly. Here's is my reasoning, I hope it was not just a lucky shot and the errors found are valid. Industrialization and modtern methods of insect control have improved the standard of living around the globe while at the same time they have introduced some 100,000 dangero...

Re: Set A, B, C have some elements in common. if 16 elements are

Hi dear math experts, I'm just trying to refresh my skills for 3-Way-Venn-Diagram, would appreciate some comments on my solution. Thanks. I won't draw a venn diagram, but for (1) it's pretty straightforward solution, as a 2-Group overlap already includes an overlap for all three groups. (1) This giv...

Re: SC -Subject Verb Agreement

Hi, here is how I derived on the correct answer.
"Not one" is singular --> eliminate D and E
We have no plural subject in B and C, hence eliminate both because of "them" and "their"
A is correct by POE without complex reasoning about tenses and etc.

Re: Data sufficiency inequality question

Hi all, I've tried to solve this one comceptually. I don't think that the division by |y| is probematic because of the signs, because both |y| and y^2 are positive. I would say we don't know whether y=0, that's why we cannot just divide by y. Question: x*|y| > y^2 --> x*|y| > |y| ? As |y| i...
