My GRE score is V151, Q154 - What is next step?

by bgootiiz Tue Jan 07, 2014 12:28 pm

Dear GRE teacher and bloggers,

My current score is Verbal 151, Q 154, I want to achieve 99% percentile, currently it is only 50% or 60%, around that… What is the most effective way to improve my GRE score within 1 or 2 months. When I was 21 years old (that is 11 years ago), I took GRE and had 85%, which was pretty good. Since then, I took GRE twice, percentile was around 55%. But for each time I took gRE, I did not prepare well, I just decided to take it and went for it. This time, I want to be serious and take the test and want to get at least 98% percentile. Is it possible? Self study or online test or actual physical class? How much time is needed? I find that if I study too long (more than one or 1.5 months), I tend to procrastinate. Please advise.

Hey Bgoot,

So, both good news and bad news: there is no fascinating individual method for improvement. It tends to take most people 2-3 months of 8-12 hours a week, reading some books and practicing a bunch of questions.

Your question (I want to improve; how should I do it?) has been asked many many times in the forums, and there are plenty of responses already. Take a look around, and I think you'll find what you're looking for. Good luck!
