Couple of Factual Questions

by yiyang07 Sun Mar 23, 2014 12:22 pm

Imaginary number count as undefined on GRE?

Also...

CHAP 22 5lb #37

Test outcome is between 151-200 inclusive. percentile of 400 tests are calculated and divide into percentile.

A. minimum number of integers between 151 and 200 inclusive that include more than 1 percentile.

B. minimum number of percentile groups that correspond to a score of 200.

So the minimum for A is 1 because if everyone score 157. then 157 correspond to both 0 and 100 percentile?

Using the same example, the answer state 200 does not have a percentile..isnt that false? it has the percentile of 100%

So the answer should be C equal rather than A>B

As a bicycle salesperson, Norman earns a fixed salary of $20 per week plus $6 per bicycle for the first six bicycles he sells, $12 per bicycle for the next six bicycles he sells, and $18 per bicycle for every bicycle sold after the first 12. This week, Norman earned more than twice as much as he did last week. If he sold x bicycles last week and y bicycles this week, which of the following statements must be true? Indicate all that apply.

y>2x ??

The explanation basically told us to prove that it is false. However, since the function is a piece function it is kind of hard to pick good number. (and even when you do pick a number the math is time consuming)

Anyway to do this one faster??

It seems like if you made this a quantitative comparison:

A: y
B: 2x

It would be quiet a challenging question by itself. It is quiet devilish indeed.

Jim's dog, Tucker, eats every hour on the hour and eats exactly half of the number of dog food pellets in his bowl. If Jim fills Tucker's bowl at 7:30 a.m. with 80 dog food pellets, what percent of the original 80 pellets will there be in Tucker's bowl at 11:30 a.m. of the same day?

How can I tell if in this case the numbers are inclusive or not...

Did the dog eat a 7:30?

Hey Ylylang,

Apologies for this, but every forum post needs to relate to one question. It'd be great if you could put the Question # and/or the type of question it is in the subject name, so that people can see it. This forum post wouldn't be helpful to many people, because they wouldn't know what you meant by "Couple of Factual Questions." Please post three separate threads for these questions, and we'll get them answered for ya!
