Manhattan GRE Algebra : Hard Problem Set Q) 15

by n00bpron00bpron00b Fri Dec 12, 2014 7:35 pm

Hi Tommy,

In the pie chart problem - how does the equation become

x^2 + 2x + 76 = 100

Corporate law - 21%
Criminal Litigation - x^2 %
Civil Litigation - (x+1)%
Administrative law - 16%
Personal Injury Law - 22%
HR Law - 17%
Intellectual Property law - x%

If we add up everything -

x^2 + (x+1) + x + 21 + 16 + 22 + 17 = 100
x^2 + 2x + 1 + 21 + 16 + 22 + 17 = 100
x^2 + 2x + 77 = 100

Thanks

Are you using an old edition of the book? Administrative is 15% in mine...
