by hasibul212003 Sat Sep 05, 2015 4:47 am

Team A and Team B are raising money for a charity event. The ratio of money collected by Team A to money
collected by team B is 5 : 6. The ratio of the number of students on Team A to the number of students on Team
B is 2 : 3. What is the ratio of money collected per student on team A to money collected per student on team
B?
(A) 4 : 5
(B) 5 : 4
(C) 5 : 6
(D) 5 : 9
(E) 9 : 5
I cannot proceed with the sum-can someone help?
Thanks.

Just throw out numbers that fit the ratio. ANY numbers will work, though some make for nice integers so the arithmetic is a bit simpler.

Team A collected 10 dollars and Team B collected 12 dollars.
Team A has 2 people and Team B has 3 people.

So Team A collected $5 per person and Team B collected $4 per person.

5:4

Tada!
