BIO

James Brock spent three years teaching Algebra 2 and Calculus in inner-city Los Angeles. After leaving the classroom for grad school, he still felt pulled to teaching and standardized tests, so he took the GMAT and scored a 780.

This allowed him to add GMAT to his teaching repertoire, which already included various sports and chess in addition to experience tutoring all levels of mathematics. Along with a B.A. in mathematics from Claremont McKenna College and a teaching credential, James has a Master of Divinity from Covenant Seminary, where he learned to closely read Greek and Hebrew and found that training remarkably helpful on Sentence Correction!

After growing up in Washington D.C., college and teaching in Los Angeles, and grad school in St. Louis, James and his wife decided to try a new region of the country. They moved to Atlanta, where he is Pastor of Family Ministry at a church in Sandy Springs. He and his wife have four sons and when not teaching or pastoring, he enjoys board games and basketball.
