September 2007 LSAT preptest 52 explanation

17. (B)
Question Type: Analyze the Structure
This determine the function question involves an argument whose conclusion is that Graham’s argument is unpersuasive. The philosopher explains Graham’s faulty argument: since we’re only truly happy when we’re active, the best life is one in which we are always active. However, the philosopher notes, we are sometimes happy when we sleep, and we are not active at that time. The question ...

However, I'm struggling to explain why E is logically incorrect. If only humans can ask for an egg or an apple, then only humans can distinguish objects from other objects, and in turn, only humans can possess the ability for conceptual thought. The fact that "computers" is in the correct answer choice for this question completely threw me off. I went with choice C...is it wrong because it violates the necessary and sufficient conditional of "if art is great, it must show deep emotion, but if it shows deep emotion, it is not necessarily great?"

PT49, S2, Q16 Most successful entrepreneurs work at

I understand why D is correct, however, I'm having trouble explaining why A is wrong. 18 hrs a day of work = no time for leisure activities but why is A true since it reverses the stated logic but does not negate it? Oh, I think I may have realized the answer...does it have something to do with "could be true"? I guess A could be true but there's no way that D could be ...

PT49, S2, Q15 The greater the number of people

I was trapped by answer choice A. Can you help explain what is wrong with A and what is so right about C? I'm guessing it's the keyword "health"

PT49, S2, Q7 Any fruit that is infected

I understand that E is right, but I chose B when I saw it and moved on. Any tips on how to spot B as a wrong answer type?
