Why does M have to be in the first row? Why couldn't the templates be:

j k _
_ f/g H

f/g g/f M
J K H

f/g _ J
K _ H

Q17 - Reporter: A team of scientists

I quickly picked B as my answer (correct answer) but then changed my answer when I got to D.

(B) made sense because essentially it is saying "hey, even if you get some false positives, and if you are one of those that are falsely positive, you at least have treatment decisions to look into"

Then I saw (D) which made most sense to me. In my head I was saying...."gee...I hope those two kids ...

Q24

Greetings, Atlas:

May I ask a hypothetical, inference question about this passage?

On question Q24, I thought that answer choice E was attractive _ until I re-read it and saw that it (slyly) blotches what the last paragraph says. In the end, I threw out E because Garber says that the high prices of blubs are not irrational; he does not say the same thing about their low prices.

But, I wonder what if answer ...

Q19 - In the decade from the mid-1980s

I understand why the answer is B, but how does C contribute to an explanation of the surprising survey results?

Thanks!

Q13 - Plant manager: We could greatly

Hi,

I have a few questions related to this problem.

How were we supposed to know that the supervisor expresses disagreement with the plant manager regarding B? He/She was not clear about anything in her brief comments - all she said was "...since the latest closed furnaces are extremely fuel-efficient" - but the latest closed furnaces could be extremely fuel efficient and still be cost more to run...right? Wouldn't we have to jump to an ...

Q17 - Studies of the relibiality

Hi,

Okay, so this argument has me totally lost.

If there is no relationship between the confidence the witness has in the account and the accuracy of that account, and if there are certain factors that can raise or diminish a witness's confidence with 0 impact on the accuracy of the identification, why is it concluded that police officers are advised to disallow suspect lineups in which witnesses can hear one another identifying suspects??!?! So ...

Q18 - Editorial: It is clear that

The conclusion is "the health education is usually propaganda rather than education".
The 1st evidence is "the former(propaganda) is nothing but an attempt to influence behavior through the repetition of simplistic slogans. If formulated in formal logic format,
propaganda ---> repetition ....

And the 2nd evidence is "the latter(education) neven involves such a method". In other words, "education--->no repetition..."
Answer is (D): (health education usually) attempts to influence behavior solely by repeating simplistic slogans". I ...

Passage Discussion

Hello, Atlas:

I’d be interested in hearing your response to the following concerns:

Initially, when I read this passage, I was taken aback by what I perceived to be a gap in reasoning in the last paragraph. There, in lines 41-44, the author gives an account of how high-prices in special, prized types of tulips can translate into an overall, price increase for tulips in general.

But, I did not -- and still do not-- ...
