Q8

by Jpyezzo Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:22 am

I skipped this question on my timed trial and answered the other questions first, and then I was able to come back and answer it.

But, in an effort to use time most efficiently, what would be the best way to attack this question? Would it be to use a trial and error approach with each answer choice?

Please see attached. We know that it must be true that G and H are either with K or S and as such K and S can never be together.

But if you just refer to the conditional frames, then you could also be lead to believe K is never placed with G. Especially since this is the first answer choice, I know I'd be likely to fall for that trap.

So I guess trial and error is the best approach, focusing on breaking the "must be" statements.

A.) Break K is not placed on the day as G by seeing if K and G can be together. And they can with violating any rules! Eliminate.

B.) Break K is not placed on the same day as S by seeing if K and S can be together and asking whose left? KS leaves GHLP and we know L/P must be on the same day, leaving G/H and we know these two CANNOT be together. (B) Must be true!
