Re: Q13 - Medical researcher: Scientists compared a large group

Hi guys, I took PT 64 couple days ago, and read over the explanations for this question. I arrived at D somewhat differently on my second try. Argument: equal number of people were compared in two groups-- those who habitually stretch before jogging, and those who do not. Findings show that both gro...

Re: Q22 - Science writer: Scientists' astounding success

I incorrectly chose D. On my second try, I incorrectly chose B. I chose B because I know from the background info that scientists have astonishing success rate with research problems, and scientists are almost never asked to solve problems that are not subject to formulation (allows scientists to ma...

Re: Q10 - Curator: The decision to restore

Here is how I solved it: Curator's conclusion: Changing RED to GREEN is justified because 1) reliable x-ray test shows RED was applied after, 2) RED was not mixed in V's workshop, leading to supporting premise that an artist other than V changed it from GREEN to RED after completion. Art Critic's ar...

P2: Details on the example-- an old reg focused on the possibility of groundwater contaminating oil! Only after drinking wat...

Re: Q8

Thanks for the detailed explanation above. I'm afraid I still don't FULLY get why D is right, but since it's most strongly supported, I figured I should go by the process of elimination. Both on my first try and during my blind review, I successfully eliminated choices A, B, and E. I guess I held on...

Re: Q24 - Certain minor peculiarities of language

I had been looking at this question for such a long time... Here is my take on why (B) is not right. The argument for this question is that peculiarities allow us to identify whether the unknown poem belongs to the known poet that it's being compared with, or whether it's by an unknown poet after al...

Re: Q21 - Kostman's original painting of Rosati

Is the flaw in the argument part-to-whole kind of flaw? just because original painting had a flaw doesn't mean the replica will have a flaw...that sounds like part-to-whole to me. and Yes 100% agree with the above post, work from wrong to right. If you can't find reasons to eliminate an answer just...
