Re: Q24 - Mr. Nance: Ms. Chan said

How does the first sentence fit within the argument core? I was thrown off because the argument said "But" and I figured that it was a shift so I really didn't pay too much attention to the first sent after that.

Re: Q6 - Lourdes: Dietary fiber is an important

I thought the answer was (B) because I thought the argument was assuming that fiber interfered with calcium, and therefore if you could find a answer that says the level of fiber is reduced then you could weaken it.

Re: Q7 - The stated goal of the government's

I initially chose (E), but I eventually went with (C) because I saw the word "contemporary". Is this one of situations where you should just let the stimulus be in the earlier part of the test? In other words, should I give the authors latitude in terms of wording for the first few questio...

Re: Q8 - Of 2,500 people who survived

I think the big thing here is how to recognize quickly that the flaw comes from the first premise and not the second in my opinion...if someone knows a key to figuring that out, it would be much obliged lol.

Re: Q10 - The only motives that influence

Well from what Ive read in my prep book it is different, like WaltGrace said. So for example if you say something like "when an earthquake happens --- > Someone will get hurt" Just because an earthquake happens, and people will get hurt, doesn't mean that the earthquake caused the peopl...

Re: Q19 - Bureaucrat: The primary, constant

Can someone explain why (E) is wrong? I can't quite convince myself it's wrong. I read (E) as if the bureaucracy is not capable of defining and classifying an unanticipated problem, then the system of regulations cannot possibly continue expanding. Thank you! Don't know if you're still up here, but...

Re: Q20 - Quality control investigator: Upon testing

I'm having trouble understanding why A is so quickly eliminated. Here is my thinking... 20% of the samples tested proved defective Supplier is contractually obligated to keep "defects" below 5% Understanding this, could you argue that this is in fact a sampling issue? Maybe the "defe...

Re: Q17 - The conventional view is that

I know you guys don't reply to non students, but hopefully someone will be able to chime in on this. It seems like ohathapatrick and rinagofield give two different methods in solving this problem that seem to be in contradiction??? I've understood that you're suppose to look for the assumption which...

Re: Q5

I know this question has been up for a while, but for anyone who is interested, I wanted to add my two cents as well. I think questions that deal with the authors feelings can be the hardest type of question at times. You really have to pay attention to how the author addresses another point of view...
