Re: Q22 - Letter to the editor: After

If the conclusion is that most who filed for compensation didn't deserve it, I don't understand how B weakens the argument. Even if it is alternate cause out of fear, B doesn't provide sufficient information to assume that the claims were deserved. They could have just as easily withheld their undes...

Re: Q22 - Dinosaur expert: Some paleontologists

It's true that the way (C) has been described is a necessary assumption for the argument. It's the same reasoning that has proved dozens of assumption answers correct (negating answer choices to see if the argument still holds water), and I don't think that we're doing ourselves any favors by convin...

Re: Q23 - Candidate: The government spends

Hi, I don't really see the judgments being made on (D). I see how it's wrong, but I thought that it was because seeing how the breaststroke is already better, they're saying that they should spend even more time on it to win more... The stimulus wants to shift money away from the program with more m...

Re: Q24 - Sociologist: Research shows, contrary to

I understand why D is right, but I just want to correct any assumptions that I have about A. A is wrong because the people who have pets (though it might only be one, and although more happy than most who have no pets) might actually be happier if they had no pet. Since the argument is maximum happi...

Re: Q24 - Over the last 25 years,

Hi, in reading the stimulus I anticipated an answer that would show that although the average price of new cars increased, that doesn't mean that the average price for a new car paid by an individual increased. That seems to be the point, but I couldn't connect any answer choice to it and I still fa...

Re: Q4 - Marianna: The problem of drunk driving

Hi, I was able to get this one right, but I got tripped up on C. I'm curious as to what constitutes "evidence." It seems like the speaker in any stimulus could make any claim. What does it look like when someone offers no evidence?

Re: Q9 - A recent study of several

I see why A is correct, but I though that D did the same thing (supplying an alternative that might be responsible). Perhaps it is not B6 and Folate, but arrhythmia (or any other heart condition) that is responsible for the development of heart disease. Any help as to why this is incorrect?

Re: Q9 - Executive: In order to add

I got this question right, but it took more of my time than I would've liked (E just looked more attractive). I got caught up on C because the executive received input from both the publications AND members of his staff, so I thought that maybe publications alone wasn't sufficient. Is it because as ...

Re: Q13

So "very little evidence" = "no evidence?" And a lack of evidence (although the survey is extensive) means that the inner solar system theory is false? Appreciate any help on this one...

In regards to choice (D), can anyone show what a generalization would look like? I would really appreciate any feedback!

Q11 - For a democracy to survive

I was split between choices B and C. C seems like a valid inference, but is it incorrect because it doesn't "follow" as well as B? I thought "threatened" was a bit strong, but it also seems more consequentially valid over option C. Is that the big difference?

Re: Q5 - Financial success does not guarantee happiness

I didn't see A as filling in a gap as much as reaffirming what was already in the stimulus. So basically A ensures that the reports were honest and accurate? Should we strongly consider these types of answers when we see them on the LSAT? I'm curious because I've seen answers rejected because they &...

Re: Q24 - Advertisement: Researchers studied a group

This question seems easy if you don't let C tempt you. It looks like C provides an alternate explanation for why the people lost weight, suggesting that the proposed diet methods are not responsible. D, however, negates the conditional statement. I've seen correct answer choices be alternate explana...

Re: Q4 - At mock trials in which

I too saw that same problem with E, but I don't think the reasons given really justify it. The reason that E is correct is because of the question stem. It asks which is best illustrated. The correct answer could have been: The way in which a waiter instructs a table can influence the table's choice...
