Re: PT 43 S2 P20 - Social critic

I have more specific questions about "translating" the language of the answer choices B and D. It was really difficult for me decide between the choice B and D, but settled on D (so ended up getting it right) but still unsure about exactly why. (Your explanation helped somewhat but I would...

Re: PT43, S2, Q18 - It is clear that what is

A quick question about the answer choice D.

Does the modifier "solely" change anything? In fact, make the statement sufficient for the conclusion, unlike the answer choice A and B, which, I think, serve only as necessary assumptions?
Thanks!!

Q19 - Marcus: For most ethical

I found the question stem a bit confusing. Could you clarify what the question is precisely asking? Is it simply asking what Anita is assuming? And as for the answer choices, I'm having a real difficult time pinpointing what precisely is wrong with the answer choice B. Isn't B also necessary for Ani...

Q13 - Britain is now rabies free

Could you explain what is wrong with the answer choice D? I was torn between D and E and ended up opting for D because "bound to fail" in E appeared too strong initially. I sort of see why E is better choice now but still cannot see what precisely is wrong with the answer choice D. Thanks.

Q5 - A gas tax of one

I was down to the answer choices A and C and chose C, so got it right, but in my review, I found it unable to pinpoint why C is better choice over A. I think the conclusion of the argument is that raising of the gas tax "seems a perfect way to deal with the federal budget deficit" and in t...

Q8 - Sociologist: The claim that there

I see why all the other answer choices are not applicable, but the correct answer--B--I just don't see the presupposition in the argument. Could you help me to see it?

Re: PT2, S2, Q5-A gas tax of one cent

Thanks so much!! It makes sense now. I just didn't catch what was incompatible; didn't pay much attention to the word "CURRENT." And what turns out to be the second premise--the additional advantage--I read it as an irrelevant piece of info--or "irrelevant data" as in choice A--s...

Q4

Could you explain why the answer choice C is wrong? (I was down to C and E based on the explanation given in the last paragraph, and I still can't find reasons to eliminate C.) It says in line 48 that "One possibility is that this is a defense against predators;" doesn't this validate the ...

PT17, S2, Q21; Nuclear reactors are sometimes built...

I just don't see the gap in this argument--probably why I also don't understand why C would be have to be assumed to make the argument valid. Could you help?

PT19, S3, Q13-The author uses

I just don't see why the answer is A. I thought the example of the ruling in Charrier v. Bell in the second paragraph, in fact, shows how common law (such as the common law doctrine of abandonment) is not applicable in such cases and thus, doesn't support the claims of Native Americans. I must be mi...
