Re: Q25 - Alissa: If, as the mayor says, the city is no longer a

My question is about clarifying the differences between A and C. Is it because in A, the word is "need," whereas in C the key word is "should," and that helps distinguishes between what is an opinion and what must happen? And their disagreement can only occur over their opinion, ...

Re: Q20 - Professor: The number of new university students who e

I think one reason why we can say E is correct is that it requires us to make the LEAST amount of assumptions. That is, the assumption that people leave majors on account of intellectual boredom or difficulty. I chose C here, which I think is the closest tempting answer of the lot, and eliminated E ...

Re: Q8

I noticed that A was too certain for the LHB theory, as if there is no other possibilities. I agree E is too narrow. A-E there is not one answer was a good answer. It's just a dumb question, I think. Nope! E isn't too narrow, in that in encompasses all of the passage. Our first paragraph describes ...

Re: Q19

I got tripped up during the timed section and answered E. But yeah, it's actually B because the question asks "must BEGIN by identifying" and so it has to be the first recommendation, which is in 41-45. I initially overlooked the BEGIN part, and looked for any of the necessary conditions m...

Re: Q20 - The advent of chemical fertilizers led the farmers

Can someone clarify the first sentence in the stimulus, and whether it is making a causal claim? When a passage says, "X led Y to abandon Z," is that a causal claim or merely correlation? I originally read this argument as a causal chain. Chemicals -> Abandon GM Crops -> Poor soil st...

Re: Q24 - Clearly, a democracy cannot thrive

I got this question wrong on timed practice but on review, it's actually REALLY easy. Sufficient assumption questions are formulaic. You just link up the new term in the conclusion with the answer choice. What's the new term in this conclusion? "effective news media". Eliminate all answers...

Q7 - Amber—fossilized tree resin sold as a gemstone

I incorrectly chose (A). The correct answer is (E). On review, I ended up choosing (C). As you can see, this was a particularly difficult question for me because I missed it twice. Now I understand why (E) is correct. The premise talks about the nature of amber and how forgers are incentivized to pl...

Re: Q7 - Normal-appearing Insects

It's in section 2 of PT 77. Question #7.

First line of the passage is "Amber-fossilized tree resin sold as a gemstone-is particularly valuable when it contains fossilized life forms."

Re: Q7 - Landlord needed to replace AC units

Does anyone else think this question stem is poorly worded? I read it as the principle for the salesperson's reasoning. Apparently LSAC wanted us to interpret this question stem as the principle that the landlord should follow. I incorrectly chose C because I was looking for a principle that focused...
