Re: Q8 - , Doctor: In three separate studies...

Well, sorry, still seems too difficult, and confused to me. I can understand you guys are trying to prove that "D" points out no causal relationship between nearsightedness and night-lights, so it weakens. But the author's conclusion is a conditional one, he simply hopes if there is chance...

Q18 - Some credit card companies allow

My understanding of the principle for this argument is that: A policy(Something) is not useful for its target people. So I choose E, thinking sports car is car, but not useful for people, now I see there is something wrong with E, for sports car is not made for most drivers. Furthermore, C doesn't q...

Re: Passage Discussion

Well, I have to say, your explanation is remarkable. When I did this passage, due to time restriction, I just passed the highlighted sentence when I felt uneasy. But while I reviewed it, I found out I still cannot get it. Then after your post, I reread this passage again, GREAT! The last paragraph h...

Passage Discussion

Well, something really awkward, I cannot understand one sentence in this passage. Line 17-24: Although the persistence of community is stressed by the authors, their emphasis in the book could just as easily have been on the high degree of assimilation to the Japanese American population in the late...

Q2

through POE, I crossed out ABC, and hesitated on D and E. I didn't choose E becuz the word "musicians" which I cannot find a trace in the passage. In paragraph 1, the author just mentioned "musicologists", I cann't see why these people also counts as musicians. So I chose D, and ...

Re: Q27

Great explanation, same to you, this is also my only incorrect answer in the entire RC section.

I write down "?" mark near option A, and later on when I review it again, I realized E was out of nowhere. cause this question is not "Inference".

Re: Q11

Well, let me try this.

I think it's because the word "inevitable" in answer A. According to Line 48-50, you can find no standing prove for that strong word.

So that's why you cannot choose A, hope that helps.

oh -my-god, you really clear that up!!!!

so now I see, I didn't get the conclusion at all.

I thought it meant that elders are more private than young men, hence I thought it matched the premise.

Now I see!!

Thanks so much!!!

Re: Q10 - the city should not build incinerators

I looked it again, and I thought may be it is just about the conclusion. the last sentence writes" if an incinerator is built, then less trash will be recycled" then it followed:" if we want more trash to be recycled, then we should not build an incinerator" and that's just as th...

Q10 - the city should not build incinerators

Why A is wrong? "Because less trash will be recycled if an incinerator is built". so I think A sounds right, for it seems if you not burn trash, trash then can be recycled. And for D, I thought about it, and "any" seems too extreme, while "All" in A is also not seems ri...

I chose D, and still cannot get A.

That does help!

I think I'm bumped by the word "policy", for in the last paragraph I cannot find some words indicating "policy". Then I realized that the decisions made by the nation may be policy.

Re: Q19 - The spread of literacy informs more people

Thanks for your clear answer, I have one more question, however. If this one is changed into "sentence playing role" type Q, which one of the two conclusions is the main conclusion? I find "thus" to be the key words indicating that's the main one, but "Consequently" see...

I thought it may be a good explanation too, although I find out D's merits.

Can somebody help me?
