Re: Diagram

Hi, The only trouble I had with this game was question 5. I t says" The largest number of members that the planting committee and the trails committee could have in common is..." I know that three out of four of the members for each team could match. One team will have four members becaus...

Re: SPB, S2, G2 - Trees in the Park

You're having the same issue with this game as so many others. In fact one day I spent all morning with people coming to me with the exact same question. It must have been an assigned practice test or something, but everyone had the exact same question all morning. Here's how I see the 3rd and 4th ...

Re: Q3 - Insectivorous plants, which unlike other plants

No, not quite! On inference questions, we're always looking for the most provable answer. Some questions ask us explicitly for the answer that "must be true," but that's only a sub-category of inference questions. If "must be true" isn't in the question stem, then we shouldn't e...

Re: PT12,S4,Q3-Insectivorous plants, which unlike other plants

Thanks for the question. You're not wrong when you say that (E) is not necessarily true. But this question doesn't ask us for something that "must be true," it asks us for the hypothesis (i.e., inference) that's most strongly supported by the statements. So it's okay if the answer choice ...

Re: Q14

You've got it! (C) is supported by lines 31 - 35, where the author points out that civil lawyers were often disciplined for unethical behavior (and then he or she goes on to argue against possible criticisms of using that information to conclude that ecclesiastical lawyers probably were also acting...

Re: Q20

Hey, I am not a tutor, but I wrote up an explanation for you. (A) The author does not discuss which theory he finds the "least plausible"; rather, the author simply suggests that the regional speciation theory is the most promising. This response is incorrect. (B) Indeed, the rate of speci...

Re: PT36 S4 Q5, 6

Hi, I'm having trouble with both q's 5 and 6. For 5, I eliminated a as well as d, and then got stuck. For 6, I ended up crossing them all out. ~becky Hey, So, the question asks: If the stand carries watermelons, then what cannot be true. Well, the last rule states that if the stand carries watermel...

Re: Q24 - The asteroid that hit

24. (D) Question type: Application The flaws in the original argument are that two consequences mentioned aren’t necessarily the only two consequences of the asteroid, and the fact that we cannot prove that fire and /or climate change caused the triceratops to go extinct doesn’t mean that they didn...

Re: Q10

Hey, I am by no means an RC expert, but I'll just try to provide you with another perspective on this question. It seems that we've both identified the objections raised by the critics mentioned in line 18. While the author argues that the Supreme Court decisions have not necessarily been completely...

Re: Q13

This is how I approached it: 4/5 Used CD's are the only one's in... so no new Cd is in. This info alone eliminates (E); both Used Rap and Used Soul cannot be absent together. Let's look at the remaining answer choices. (A) If used Jazz is not on sale (remember: New Jazz is also not on sale), then NP...

Re: PT3, S1, G1 - Six people order food

So, I put together a slide of how to set up this game and I ran through questions 1 and 5. I hope this helps. One thing to keep in mind is that we haven't seen a game of this sort in 8 years, so it's unlikely that one like this will show up on any upcoming LSAT. That said, sometimes the LSAC has a ...

Re: PT3, S1, Game 4, Airshow pilots

Thanks for the quick response. This set up really helps. I had something similar but had missed that more than 2 people can fly in each plan. One thing that really confused me is that it doesn't say whether the same pilot or co-pilot can fly in multiple plans. I assumed that they could. So in quest...

Re: Q10

I chose C, but the right answer was A. But wouldn't C be agreeable, too? On line 18, the passage discussed how critics think the supreme court has been using patronizing tone and rejected Native American values. But the author disagrees, and on the next paragraph, the author said the court recogniz...

I got this question wrong, too; this is how I see it, though: We have two templates - that is: F has 2 people; H has 4 people; and K has 1 person. or F has 1 person; H has 2 people; K has 4 people. The question asks: "which one of the following could be a COMPLETE AND ACCURATE list of the film ...

Re: PT23, S1, G3, Questions 12-18

This is how I got through Q.14: A, C and E were quick eliminations: (A) - would force M + R in team 2 (remember: J1 -> R2; M also has to be there because there is at least 1 anthro per team). (C) - violates N/R rule (E) - has three linguists and no anthro on team 1. Now, we are left with B and D....

Re: Q24 - Certain minor peculiarities of language

No problem. The reason that (B) is not correct is that it addresses a valid reason why there exist some poems that may not be identifiable with the test described in the stimulus but it does not explain why "any poem" cannot be conclusively proved to be of a specific author using the test...

Re: Q19 - Fares on the city-run public buses in

Having looked at again I think I came up with something: The city councillors argue that the city taxes should be used PRIMARILY to benefit the people who pay them. That means that answer choice C doesn't necessarily conflict with their justification for the conclusion. In the other answer choices ...

Q24 - Certain minor peculiarities of language

I see why C is correct; however, I cannot justify why B is wrong.
