Brain warm up for exam day

by ag.portia Fri Jul 11, 2014 7:55 am

I will be appearing for GRE in a week and a half from now, and it's booked for early morning. I am not that great in verbal section because I am slow at reading, though I have improved much with practice. After writing a few mock exams, I feel that, I don't do that well if I directly jump into a test, without any warm up. Can any of you suggest a good brain warm up, especially for the verbal section? something that will get your brain working for GRE clues in questions ?

Hey Ag,

I always just recommend my students warm up for the GRE with...a bit of GRE!

The morning before you take your test, read an RC passage and do a main idea question. Read a couple of RC-Argument passages as well (the short ones) and do the questions. 10 minutes before you leave for the testing center should keep you focused. (You could also have a medium-difficulty book with you to read while you wait for your test time).

Good luck!
