Hi,
In the appendix for GRE Math Glossary of the GRE QC and Data Comparision Study Guide (3rd Edition), for the example of the definition of "slope", your example states that the slope of the linear line shown is 2.
However, if you apply the slope formula: (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) the result is as follows:
points: (1,0) and (3,2):
(2-0)/(3-1) = 2/2 = 1
Why the difference between the result given by your study guide and the result given by the slope formula? Which is the right slope?
Thanks,
F
