Thank you for your question. The score that you mentioned of a 166 on 30 correct answers is very possible. The GRE is an adaptive test, so the scoring is not based solely on number of questions right or wrong. On our exams, student scores are calculated by a complex algorithm; different questions are weighted differently (each question does not just carry one point). Furthermore, when the tests adapts between sections, the weighting of the score is changed based on which sections you receive on your test. This is the same way that the real GRE exam calculates scores.
