Query about counting question variation

by fbmagnumopus Mon Dec 02, 2013 2:12 am

For the following problem, would we solve the problem any differently if the numbers that appeared were 1002 instead of 2002 or would our approach to this problem stay the same yielding the same answer 15?

Hey FB,

A couple things. Please post all questions into this forum, not linked to other places. Also, this question doesn't make any sense. There's no reason to read it as the 2002 would be equally spaced, so it could also be:

2002__
or _2002_

So basically, I don't want to talk about this question, because it hasn't been written correctly. Always be wary of asking about any question that isn't a GRE question from an approved GRE-question-writing source. It's always tempting to work with any question that tests a SUBJECT that shows up on the GRE (combinatorics, in this case), but all questions are not created equal.
