Standard Deviation - probably not

by jjohnso6 Mon Sep 30, 2013 5:55 pm

One of the SGs says that we probably won't be required to calculate a standard deviation. Why the ambiguity?

Hey J,

Because we've never seen a question that does it. However, the GRE still always mentions it. (For example, I believe they do give the equation in the Official Guide, as if it were worth knowing.) I tell my students they don't need to learn it, and I've yet to have someone come back and tell me they had a problem.
