Test day coming soon--- what to do?

by janeireneshaw Thu Oct 23, 2014 3:16 am

Hi, Tommy.
I am not a native speaker of English, and I get poor scores in GRE verbal sections. I have been study for the exam for about a month, and with the test day coming sooner, I lost my idea of what to do. Maybe I just got nervous, but I really want to grasp the last 2 days and improve my performance as possible.
I have taken the practice exams for 4 times, and my major problems is in verbal section now. I managed to improve my quant score to 168 by focus on the specific question type I have trouble with. Can I do the same with verbal section? I noticed that there is some difference between the classifacation of the assessment report and the manhattan book. Should I deal with one type of questions a time or just read through the Reading Comprehension book and practise along? And what about TC and SE questions?
Thank you very much!

Hey Jane,

There's no easy answer to how to improve, and it certainly can't happen in a couple of days. Getting better at half of verbal simply involves memorizing hundreds and hundreds of words. On the Reading Comprehension side, there are definitely techniques to learn, and practicing along with the book is indeed your best bet. Then doing lots of questions.

Good luck!
