the difficulty of the verbal section in the GRE

by h.alharbi Mon Jun 17, 2013 9:30 am

Hello,

I have studied English one year in the UK, and got 6.5 in IELTS.
I was thinking I'm good in English language : ) ..
but after I see the GRE, I knew that I'm not good enough .
actually the vocabulary used in the GRE is convoluted, and for a person who his mother language in not English , the situation become much difficult.

I'm doing very well in math but verbal :(

so I need some hints that will help me defeat the verbal section in the GRE ..

Hey H,

Look around the forum, because plenty of people have asked this question. In short, there is no magic bullet. The reason we offer classes and books is because you should use the classes and books.

If your English is so bad that even the classes and books aren't helpful, then you probably need to get language tutoring first. Once your language skills are solid, you'll be ready for our books and/or classes, which will take you the rest of the way.

Good luck!
