Disingenuous means, “insincere; lacking in frankness or candor; falsely or hypocritically ingenuous.”
Here’s the mnemonic:
“I can’t believe you tricked me!” he shrieked at Jennifer. “You are so disinJENuous.”
Not that anyone’s ever said that to me. I’m hardly crafty, sly, cunning, or artful. (Of course, that’s exactly what a disingenuous person would say!)
