MBA events are a great way for B-School aspirants to get information about different programs across the world. They provide not only a chance to hear more about what these programs offer, but also an opportunity to access inside information from admissions representatives. Many schools host their own open houses for prospective students, but you can hit many of them at once at national fairs such as the upcoming MBA Tour.

The MBA Tour
is an independent team that hosts events worldwide to bring together prospective MBA students, business school representatives, alumni, and other B-School resources. The Tour is a reliable and high-quality platform for students at all stages of their journey to B-School. Attending these events will gain you access to admissions representatives from high-ranked programs such as Columbia University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UCLA, and INSEAD. At The MBA Tour, you’ll gain valuable information and forge important connections.

Here at Manhattan Prep, we’re proud to partner with The MBA Tour once again this year and will be attending each event on the USA tour, in addition to Toronto (Canada Tour). Attendees of The MBA Tour can visit our table for information, discounts and goodies, and to enter a raffle for the chance to win a Free Complete Course (GMAT or GRE, of up to $1599 value).

We believe in real education, and we want to give you the information you need to make the right decisions for yours. Not only can you speak to us at each city to get the answers you need but we’ll also be offering two presentations during the tour:

Our tips on how to make the most of The MBA Tour:

1. Do as much research as you can.

  • Know the schools that will be in attendance and be prepared with questions specific to each program.
  • Know the companies that will be in attendance, including any special offers they might have for the event.

2. Dress to impress, but be prepared for a long day

  • Business casual is recommended for attendees of this event, but, at minimum, we suggest that your outfit is clean—without holes, rips or frays, and comfortable (the events are long and you’ll be on your feet for the most part!).

3. Ask a lot of questions, take notes, get contact information, and take the information from the table!

  • Make sure you’re taking advantage of the representatives in front of you; get all of your questions answered.
  • Remember that you’ll also be talking to a lot of people; have a notebook and something to write with so you can recall these conversations later.
  • When in doubt, get the person’s card – this way, you can follow up directly after the event with more questions.
  • Don’t forget the informational pamphlets – yes, it’ll feel a little overwhelming when you leave the event with a bag full of these, but they’ll be great sources of information for you after the event and they might be more digestible when you’re able to take your time looking over them.

4. Be nice – to the representatives and to yourself

  • These events can be a little overwhelming, so make sure to take care of yourself by taking breaks, having snacks, and staying hydrated.
  • The representatives are talking to hundreds of people during the tour. A small, kind gesture (a smile, a “thank you”) will go a long way and leave lasting impressions.

If you’re considering an MBA, The MBA Tour is an incredible opportunity to research, network, and move forward toward your B-School future. Once you decide to apply, you’ll want to perform as well as you can on the GMAT. That’s where we come in. Come visit our booth in your city so that we can help you make sense of an otherwise daunting process. We hope to see you on tour this summer! 📝
